Paul began by working 11 years for a fine custom furniture business located in Maryland, specializing in antique and modern furniture repairs, as well as, creating top quality reproduction furniture. Then Paul decided to create his own fine woodworking business – Paul D. Navarria Fine Woodworking.
With an additional 25+ years of self-employment experience, Paul has continued the "Old World" style of furniture building or repairs and not succumbed to the quick style of repairs offered by inexperienced shops.
Most furniture repair companies offer the "quick fix" which is often just temporary. For example, using an expanding glue to fix loose chair joints, rather than taking the chair apart and gluing with proper wood glue (longer lasting) and clamps (Old World style).
The way Paul approaches a job is to start by looking at how the piece was originally built and thenreproduce/repair at the same level of expertise - Old World style.
From gluing a chair, to reproducing a broken leg on a chest of drawers, or even creating a quality reproduction heirloom piece of furniture, Paul can do it.
While Paul doesn’t refinish or upholster, he can recommend other highly talented craftsmen such as Bob Standiford with The Finishing Touch Furniture Restoration.

"The work you did rebuilding our family heirloom tall chest of drawers is incredible. The drawers
slide with ease and the breaks in the legs are invisible. I am sure it is as useable and sturdy as it
has ever been. Thank you so much."

"When our restaurant had 120 wobbly chairs, I feared a lawsuit! You came to the rescue and reglued and repaired all 120 like new. We have loved these chairs for years and did not want to
buy new ones. Thanks again."
